Thanks everyone who came out for Game Night this month. The Cormie/Stiteler team put on an excellent feed; so good, in fact, that we almost forgot to play the games. (Pro tip: use the pretzel Hawaiian rolls for your sliders.) But when we finally got through eating and socializing and got around to the games on Game Night, it was a blast. Poker-Yahtzee-Dominoes. All three were fun, but the Poker table definitely generated the most laughs. Next month’s Game Night: BOWLING!
Voter registration can actually be fun if you do it at a chill location like the Bastrop Beer Co. with lots of like-minded folk. Trivia Night is a great event for a voter reg table. Even better if it also happens to be the same night the Bastrop Young Professionals are meeting. Fun fact: the BYP also has VDRs (Volunteer Deputy Registrar) in their group. Love that they are hip to the needs of young professionals who may be new to the area. It was great chatting with everyone who needed forms or had questions about the upcoming election on November 7. We’ve got you covered! Happy to help, and we look forward to a return engagement.
Last newsletter we promised we would start awarding a prize once a month or so to thank one of the subscribers who faithfully opens our newsletter every time it hits their inbox. You are awesome! The first winner, selected at random, is
Congrats! Reach out to us in the comments here, or by replying to this email, and let us know how we can get your prize to you.
This may also be a good time to clarify how Substack works. We have heard that some folks claim we charge people to read this newsletter. As of this writing, we do not. One of the things we like about Substack is how easy they make it to monetize your newsletter. We do have a few paid subscribers, and would love to have lots more. We may put some content behind a paywall at some point in the future. But for now, everyone can read everything for free. So if you happen to hear that rumor going around, feel free to correct whomever is spreading it. TIA!
